Fantastic Holidays and How to Explain Them

Fantastic Holidays and How to Explain Them

I’m so happy I could make it back
to New York for Christmas after publishing my somehow
five movie worthy 128 page textbook. but… Where are all your decorations? Where’s the Christmas tree? ahhh, newt, We’re Jewish. Goldstein…? Yeah, sweetie. We celebrate Hannukah. Right! Of course! …. What’s a jewish? Wait…seriously? You’ve never met a jewish person before? How do you not know what that is?? Is it a type of wizard? Oy. You don’t have any jews at Hogwarts, honey? huh. come to think of it, there is this one weird house no one ever
talks about… *Mariah Carey’s all i want for christmas
is you plays from a radio* So, do Muggles know about the jewishes? It’s not a wizard thing! Jews are an ethno-religious group with sets
of traditions and holidays. In Hannukah we celebrate the miracle of the one small cruse of oil which lasted for 8 whole days! Sounds like witchcraft to me. IT’S NOT! Are these magical inscriptions? *gasp* IS IT A HORCRUX? UUGHH!! I’m too hungry for this. Queenie, recite the kiddish so we can eat
our Chinese food already. Baruch ataa adonai… oh Is that some kind of jewish spell? Tina: Sure. Whatever.
Queenie: yes. I’m only like… half jewish

About the author

  1. Ok, now I'm starting to wonder how they're even Christian wizards, considering magic isn't looked upon likely most major religions, with the expections of paganism and Wicca.

  2. Don't think the wizarding community is religious… I mean, they might have accidentally been behind a few of them, but yeah

  3. Great video. Although, let's be honest, the song played most in Britain during Christmas is Slade's 'Merry Christmas Everybody'. 'IT'S CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISTMAS!'

  4. I pray that anyone who says ahem THE K WORD will be reported indefinitely. Leigh is too wholesome for National Socialists.

  6. Well it was ilegal to not be protestant in t}britain for a long time, and other parts of the uk are chatolic so it wouldnt be weird that i in the 1940, 20 or 30s when he went to howards there were not jew wizards in hogwarts, at least not muggle born.
Thou that takes us to the immportant question about wizarding world religion, is it the same or radicaly diferent?

  7. rowling never addresses religion. but given that miracles and paranormal things can be explained by ''a wizards did it'' I guess all or almost all wizards must be atheists. also, they don't seem to give much thought to skin color and ethnic groups. for them, the world is divided in nations and in muggles and wizards.

  9. "Newt:Oh!Is that some kind of Jewish spell?"Literally how I feel every time someone asks what a bar mitzvah is.

  10. as a fellow fantastic jew, I just gotta say, if one good thing came out of j.k. rowling's forced "diversity", this is it.
