The Orange County Regional History Center
in Orlando Florida is set in the nineteen twenty-seven Orange County Courthouse. Visitors
will kick off an interactive journey through central Florida’s colorful past. Orlando’s
early days can be seen through historic photos, exhibits, hands on displays and much more.
In addition to the History Center visitors will see Heritage Square. It’s an outdoor
tree lined park that can accommodate special events, art festivals and concerts. The settings
also include some icons from Orlando’s past including bronze statues of alligators and
a fifteen foot high postcard depicting central Florida from a different era. The Orange County
Regional History Center also houses the extensive collections of the Historical Society of Central
Florida Inc. The history center is open Mondays through Saturdays. Admission prices are available
on line.
