  1. Thank yall for never switching up ur sound. Its always the same type of vibe . Never dissapoints and always better each time Death Cab for Cutie yous the real mvp

  2. I was raised on Death Cab for Cutie by my sister, and it still speaks to me on such a spiritual level. Goddamn.

  3. If only you'd have known me before the accident
For with that grand collision came a grave consequence
Receptors overloaded, they burst and disconnect
'Til there was little feeling please work with what is left
Oh I need not be flattered that you've never been here before
So there's no need to mention that you've no firsts anymore
But if you let me be your skyline I'll let you be the wave
That reduces me to rubble that looked safe from far away
    I don't know why, I don't know why
I return to the scenes of these crimes
    Where the hedgerows slowly wind
Through the ghosts of Beverly Drive
    I don't know why, I don't know why
I don't know what I expect to find
Where all the news is second hand
And everything just goes on as planned
You wanna teach but not be taught
And I wanna sell but not be bought
So let us not be lonesome
So let us not be lonesome
Lost in between our needs and wants
    Our needs and wants
    I don't know why, I don't know why
I return to the scenes of these crimes
    Where the hedgerows slowly wind
Through the ghosts of Beverly Drive
    I don't know why, I don't know why
I don't know what I expect to find
Where all the news is second hand
And everything just goes on as planned
    I don't know why, I don't know why
    I don't know why, I don't know why
    I don't know why, I don't know why
    I don't know why, I don't know why

  4. I just wanna thank the artists and everyone involved because I only bought one or two of DC's album's but I've listened to almost all of their freely available songs and I feel a bit bad about it because there is so much more art created that I have gotten to enjoy (either passing radio or web source mostly) than I end up paying for and I'm not wealthy at all but if you guys end up playing on like a roadside penniless (not that I'm thinking you are but also not that I would really know) or something in some strange twisted future, I'll drop whatever I got in my pockets that will help you, if I'm broke I'll teach you everything know that could help you. Thank you! it kinda happens to me a lot with artists, particularly music, where I feel I have enjoyed much of their work than I paid the standard price for and I pretty much feel that way about any of you.

  5. This song will always make me instantly happy I was around 14 when it came out and they would play it on a certain radio station all the time and I would force my dad to listen to it too. And now I’m 17 and listen to it as I’m driving around at night.

  6. This song is so mellow and relaxed. It makes me think of wilderness and camping and just being in the moment. Love It.

  7. Oh man, great song when you're deep in a depressive episode, specifically after a relapse. I dunno why, I dunno why, I return to the scene of these crimes. I don't know why I let myself get this low, and I prolly never will, but that's okay.

  8. "If you let me be your skyline, I'll let you be the wave that reduces me to rubble but looked safe from far away." Super relatable lyricism.

  9. I think the song is about the aftermath of a bad (abusive) relationship.

If only you had known me before the accident (before the bad relationship)

For with that grand collision came a great consequence… till there was little feeling, please work with what is left
    (Emotional trauma resulting in depression)

Oh I need not be flattered that you’ve never been here before… no firsts anymore
    (It’s the other person’s relationship)

I don’t know why, I don’t know why, I return to the scenes of these crimes… through the ghosts of beverly drive
(Even though you’re in the new relationship, you can’t stop going to the places that reminds you of the old one. You feel like a rubbernecker that slows down to view car crash wreckage, people are attracted to disaster. I would assume the ex lived on Beverly Drive?)

Where all the news is second hand, and everything goes on as planned
(News of your ex is always from other people if you don’t talk to them yourself, and even though you still hear about them and can’t stop driving past where you used to meet, your life goes on just as planned.)

  10. If only you'd have known me before the accident
For with that grand collision came a grave consequence
Receptors overloaded, they burst and disconnect
'Til there was little feeling please work with what is left

Oh I need not be flattered that you've never been here before
So there's no need to mention that you've no firsts anymore

    I don't know why, I don't know why
I return to the scenes of these crimes
    Where the hedgerows slowly wind
Through the ghosts of Beverly Drive
    I don't know why, I don't know why
I don't know what I expect to find
Where all the news is second hand
And everything just goes on as planned

You wanna teach but not be taught
And I wanna sell but not be bought

    I don't know why, I don't know why

    I'm the next great songwriter

  12. Last year I was in the car of my mom changing the radio and this song comes and after the firsts seconds I loved and just googled the lyrics and that was the start of me loving this band

  13. Dang, a year and a half ago was so different… I can't believe how much everything has changed. This song takes me back. Sunset drives with the wind in my hair, the bass in the middle of the song pulsing through the speakers, cursing an ex as I drove past his house on my way home, going back to the parking lot where we kissed for the first time… this song is a good kind of sad. And now it's just a musical time capsule.

  14. i heard this song at rehab the first time. now I've been clean for over a year. it gives me good vibes.
