Will We Ever Be Able to Travel Through a Wormhole?

Will We Ever Be Able to Travel Through a Wormhole?

What happens when you have two black holes,
quantum particles and a hell of a lot of gravity all in one place!? Traversable wormholes!! AKA a time machine? Many of you guys might’ve seen this demo
of how a wormhole works. So if you have two points on a piece of paper… Like two planets in space that you want to
travel between really quickly. If you fold space in half, you can get the
two points (or planets) to connect. This is the idea of how a wormhole works…
and possibly time travel. But for that to exist, we’d need huge warping
of spacetime, which is really hard for us to do. But for black holes? Easy peasy. With Einstein’s theories came the idea that
if there are two black holes, they could be connected through a wormhole. Also known as the Einstein-Rosen bridge. You bet your Benjamin Sisko that you would
not be able to travel through that wormhole though. The wormhole wouldn’t be traversable because
it would be too unstable to remain open. It would require a lot of quantum negative
energy to counteract the immense gravity from the black holes…
it’s really complicated, and we can make another video about it if you want let us
know. Up until now, scientists thought that nothing
came out of a black hole, but something known as Hawking radiation has been predicted by
Stephen Hawking himself to be emitted from black holes. A theory brought by Steven Hawking himself. Hawking radiation states that black holes
are not eternal that they will slowly emit more and more of their matter till they evaporate
out of existence. Except… if this Hawking radiation leaves
one black hole, it could end up spawning another, which could cause those two black holes to
become entangled I know what you’re thinking, entanglement
with black holes?! What the Ferengi is going on here? Becoming entangled just means that they have
a connection, that they share the same quantum particles. It’s like as if the two black holes are
related to each other. And THIS is where the fun stuff comes in about
possible time travel. Quantum mechanics says that if two black holes
are quantum entangled there may be a wormhole that connects them together, if this is true,
then any particle that falls into one of the black holes can in theory come out of the
other one. So in a way, from this Hawking Radiation,
it built sort of a bridge between the two black holes–aka a possible traversable wormhole. There’s quite a heated debate about this
new theory because some believe that nothing escapes a black hole and it’s filled with
a forever increasing density while others believe black holes to be totally empty. If a black hole is totally empty then there
is no possibility for a bridge, a connection, or a time-traveling traversable wormhole. But that’s just the theories right now.. And more math is needed to figure it all out. So until the day we can actually observe and
experiment with wormholes… we’ll just have to slingshot around the sun or travel
faster than warp 9.997. Special thanks to Domain dot com for sponsoring

  1. This is possible, only if you can avoid having every atom of your body broken from its constituent bond and intermolecular force.

  2. Girl has a voice that can sound very authoritarian….which is a plus. Some girls are the total opposite, they sound like a smurf. Britney Spears comes to mind.

  3. ' wormholes' ! Yet MORE satanic scientism fooling the dumbed down sheeple !
There's NO 'space' and NO ball shaped spinning earth – so where do you get your 'wormholes' from ? i know your insane IMAGINATIONS !

  4. I thought Black Holes only 'emit' particles because their gravity is so strong that when digital particles (which pop into existence all the time, and contain both a particle and its corresponding anti-particle) are very close to the event horizon of a black hole, the gravity of the Black Hole sucks in the anti-particle and ejects the particle. Normally the digital particle would just annihilate itself since it is technically a combination of particle and anti-particle. Anyway, the mass of the black hole gradually decreases because of the anti-particles it consumes, and because the particle with mass is shot off in the form of Hawking Radiation, it merely appears as though particles with mass are coming out of the Black Hole. Because of this weird phenomenon, a black hole will eventually evaporate because it has eaten so many anti-particles that all its mass is cancelled out. So I'm not sure how anything could be sent though a Black Hole, aka, this theory sounds highly unlikely when framed with my current understanding (which could be wrong, I'm not an astro-physicist).

  5. Cool but Black holes do swallow each other to become a bigger black hole. The perfect storm would have to happen in order to seperate the newly forming black hole along with a certain distance apart to ensure it's stable. Even then Black holes do move. Until the human race is able to send people to deep space explorations it'll be a dozen generations until Wormhole technology/ star, space, time, etc Gates are a reality.

  6. this channel is a perfect example of how to take awesome science concepts and make them unwatchable. The hosts are terrible.

  7. Awww she is so excited, that's adorable! xD Too bad about the wormhole travel, though…guess I need to find another way to travel to Sirius.

  8. Easy! Imagine four black holes where two massive black holes act like the "gates" (from point A to point B) and the other two (smaller massive) black holes orbit around where the singularity exists between the "gate" black holes. That's what we call gravity at work… *MIC DROP

  9. "That's just a theory" doesn't help scientific literacy, as a scientific theory doesn't mean what people tend to think it means. Just saying.

  10. …please no, I was happy with with just Trace doing these videos by himself, sigh…[email protected]#%$….why just whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy must you add her why????? it was simple and it worked why must you mess with that balance?…

  11. Black holes are the openings of gigantic wormholes that lead to inner-dimensions of the universe where particles are recycled. They lead to disintegration, thus death of anything living. Black holes lead to the inner-dimensional mantle of the cosmos. Yet, smaller wormholes would exist as a network throughout the universe. They will not allow time travel but will allow travel well beyond the speed of light. Wormhole of black holes are bad, smaller invisible wormholes are good. Let's find some, at least one would be a good start. In case you did not notice the existence of black holes is proof of the existence of wormholes. Just stay at a safe distance from black holes, like you would from an active volcano or a hurricane. Wormholes are more like a cavernous system in a mountain. Yet, small wormholes also come with their challenges if connected to.

  12. Sorry Trace, but Athena steals the light in this video. She did so by wearing that luscious what ever you want to call it with the red lipstick. Perfect length necklace and hair favoring those eyes omg.

  13. Some of the books say black holes are nothing but compressed star of mass then how can we go through mass

  14. Oh my god if i see this fucking paper "trick" once again i swear i will kill myself. I saw this like fucking 400 times already.

  15. I've always been fascinated with the black hole idea and how it would work. The first time I saw someone use the folded paper pencil visual to describe what it would be like it made me think about how we are moving on that sheet of paper so is the wormhole moving, ripping space and time open like a giant cosmic knife or would it be "standing still" in space which would be interesting and dangerous. If we made a wormhole on earth and it stayed stationary in space we would have to make sure we know exactly which direction we were moving in space at that moment, which direction are we facing from the sun, which way is our solar system is moving through the galaxy and also which way the galaxy is going through the universe. And the speeds too. If you did it at the wrong time even opening a wormhole for a 1/100th of a second it could just core out a junk of the earth and somewhere out in space would be a planet sized core sample of earth. If you did it right though you could pop open a worm hole out in space directly in front of your ship for a fraction of a second and it would be like you were instantly teleported. This would make sense since this exotic matter that they supposedly made in that Hadron collider which would be the fuel for a worm hole only exists for an extremely short time so you probably could only make a wormhole for a fraction of a second. But how would you arrange a disk of exotic matter unless you had some kind of spherical Hadron collider in space which would be nuts it seems all pretty crazy but I hope we can one day figure out if wormholes are usable because it is really the only way you could really get around the galaxy or universe quickly. Right now were in kind of a cave man era of technology, we can get to the moon and mars but we can't do much there, we probably could figure out a way to terraform mars if we really put the money and resources and work into it and have an off world colony, which is the best thing for survival because something could happen on a global scale on earth but at least there would be a population on a different planet like mars or titan. We could probably be way beyond what we are but really capitalism restricts progress. We fund things that are arbitrary and useless to the long term good of the people and waste so much money and resources on stupid endeavors and have such a "in the moment" attitude. People spend billions on stupid cars that can do 400km an hour but the speed limit everywhere is like 110km max. All really because real progress would mean making things work better and last longer and be more power efficient. But then you wouldn't need to buy a new one so they make it marginally better than the last instead of as good as possible and make it break easily so you need a new one in a year or two and more power consumption because the power companies still need you paycheck. Capitalism is all about selling incremental progress, selling you the 2000x model of something even though they could make the 6000x model right now. But there gonna go through all the in between because they don't want to short themselves so they'll have to 3000x and the 4000x then the 4500x as a slight upgrade. Because if they jumped to the 6000x model quality right out the gate they would actually have to innovate at a fast pace instead of always being a few steps ahead of the market. I think science and space exploration should be the most important thing on this planets agenda and it's kinda sad when I boot up my news feed and the list is
    Celebrities
    Fashion
    Sports
    Cooking
    Politics

    And then finally

    Technology and Science,
those should be the top of the list. People can barely live without technology but don't know their microwave works or ecen how their phone works even though most people are on it 80% of the time they are awake. Science is literally how it all works, it's the most important subject in the world because it is the study of the universe. I mean there's still people out there that don't know not to mix ammonia and bleach but at least they know how to make a good stir fry and can tell you the latest gossip about some celebrity you've never heard of or some politician who said some crazy thing. Or technology that is so barely useful but people love it, because instead of typing questions into your computer or taking all the effort of using your browser on your smart phone. Now you can just yell stuff at a microphone connected to Google and it will spit out answers for you while you lay on the couch unable to lift a finger lol. I know that technology really was born on the premise of laziness, how can I do this way easier and faster. but there has to be a lot of work put in to achieve or harness the luxury of laziness lol and now were at that point where were gonna probably have to do lots of work again because we achieved ultimate laziness here on earth almost so next we need to look to the stars so we can find a new planet to terraform and colonize so we can build a big society so we can get to the point of being super lazy on exotic planets aswell lol

  16. 🤤🤦🏻‍♂️ did they really just say 2 black holes can connect. No. You guys fucked this up. It goes like this (my theory) and makes more sense. Goes in through a black hole comes out through a white hole. Like it’s that simple.

  17. i will not travel, you can end up anywhere in space and time. and i dont think you will survive being hawking radiated out of a black hole 😛

  18. Rotational frame-dragging, hello? The kerr-newman metric allows for hyperextreme black hole solutions with a rotating naked singularity which pulls space around with it, meaning that a particle moving at locally subluminal speeds can enter and exit closed timelike curves at any point in the black hole's history

Downside: having a net charge on the black hole would bias the hawking radiation at the cauchy horizon to neutralize the charge, eventually causing the black hole to collapse into a proper event horizon

  19. time travel has to do with being able to travel like say for example at the speed of light to break the jet fighter plane mach level to get from point a to point b in a relatively short period of time to defy that being of whatever the average travel time-frame-period may be otherwise, but then you can never travel back into time in reality according to that being of t.v.-show, & movie plots of sci-fi being that because it is just impossible when it is to be analyzed by the worldly system of things as we know it to be in comparison, …

  20. We need to travel quickly from the continent of Europe to the continent of Australia
    . We need Instant Transfer
. We need to invent tubular hole To travel quickly to distant continents in the earth
.There are a lot of people suffering from fatigue And exhaustion This is because their homes are far from their work sites
. Humans should be interested in the  (Tubular hole) For the immediate transportation project . Many animal experiments should be done for the Instant Transfer project,
.The immediate transport project depends on the wormhole industry (Tubular hole)

  21. You should not have said 'thats a just a theory.' Sounds like 'it's just a theory, you know, just don't give a damn about it'. Look for the meaning of 'theory' please. You will be surprised when you realise it is damn MEANINGFUL!
